A small but mighty release!
Weโve introduced a new feature called animation paths. This allows you to create smooth movements for objects within your sphere when auto-play is enabled. You can now define specific paths that objects will follow, bringing your sphere to life!
We have updated internal navigation features, allowing you to navigate to objects in published spheres within your space. Additionally, you can enjoy extra customisations for a more tailored navigation experience.
Expanded event tracking capabilities in Matomo. You can see detailed interactions within your sphere, including drag, movement and zoom in and out. This enhanced tracking lets you pinpoint exactly where and how viewers are interacting with your sphere, providing deeper insights into user engagement.
Along with animation paths and event tracking, there have also been various performance enhancements and bug fixes.
With this update you can your elevate your sphere navigation experience. Welcome to Navigation settings and a new navigation button type: โMenuโ. You can now create a custom menu for your Sphere with up to 12 configurable menu items.
And with Navigation settings you can move Search, Control button and Menu in whichever order suits your Sphere the best, set unique layouts and add up to 5 always visible navigation elements!
See it live right here.
This update brings exciting new features and improvements to enhance your experience with our platform. Discover the latest enhancements, bug fixes, and optimisations designed to make your workflow smoother and more efficient.
New Features:
Figma plugin! This means you can easily sync your designs from Figma into Cozmos, streamlining your creative process and bringing your ideas to life effortlessly. Learn more about what it can do in our guide.
You can now customize the loading animation, to create an even more personalised experience.
The canvas now provides design guidelines for the number of videos to have in your sphere. Too many videos will impact the performance of the sphere, making it slow to load. This new feature ensures you do not go over the video limit and keeps your sphere running as smooth as possible
You can now select and drag multiple objects at once on the canvas. Guidelines will also be provided on how many objects to have to enhance sphere performance.
Now you can be more precise with object sizing and placements on the canvas. Instead of whole numbers, you can now use decimals to get the objects exactly where you want them.
You can track more detailed analytics about how your audience are using the audio and full screen features. This can be found in your configured analytics platform IE GA4 or Matomo.
If you are using a web browser embedded in another programme, such as Instagram for example, you now have an option to use a simpler version of your sphere called โSphere Liteโ. This will ensure high performance across all embedded browsers.
A small but powerful release bringing Audio to your Sphere experiences.
With this latest update you can apply Audio to your sphere as a background track to create a more immersive experience, or apply audio as an action to objects on the canvas in Curator.
To upload your audio files, login to your Space and go to Assets, you'll see a new area for your audio files here.
To ensure we allow you to build accessible experiences, weโve also made some changes to the cookies pop-up which is presented the first time a viewer visits one of your spheres if you've enabled atmospheric audio.
These changes will allow your viewer to select if they want any background audio to automatically play on entry and if they want the sphere to load in full-screen view.
New styling options can be found in Settings/Cookies in your Cozmos Space
For a overview on how you can make the most of Audio in your Sphere design, take a look at our Audio Guide.
Our first release of 2024 is here! and we're excited to announce some great new features and improvements. We've also resolved a few issues which you may or may not have encountered since our previous update.
V16 of the platform focuses on bringing more analytics capabilities via our support of Matomo, connect to your own Matomo account, you can also run A/B testing on your sphere's via Matomo to help you refine and test your designs. Take a look at our guide on Analytics to learn more.
To give you more control over your Sphere experience, we've introduced new Animation Controls which allow you to set transition speeds and types when moving between objects on the Sphere canvas.
This is just the first step in a long list of features will be releasing in the future to help you craft unique journey paths through a Sphere.
Lastly, we know how important it is to optimise for mobile and so we've introduced new options within 3D Preview which will allow you to view your design on various device types and orientations.
Feature Improvements:
Shopify checkout data is now shared with Matomo if using this to track Sphere analytics. This will give you a greater level of detail on all ecommerce transactions. Basket value, item name, variant and quantity.
Social content overlays have updated style settings, allowing you to set colour options for content scroll bars.
The copy/paste function in Curator has had two updates. You can now ALT+drag and object to duplicate it and copy/paste will now function on Clusters.
Bug Fixes
Fixed issue where text could not be edited when placed above a cluster or video object
Fixed issue where a selected object would resize based on previous object selection when opening the transform panel
Fixed issue where selecting a background colour while an image background was applied would not change the background
Fixed issue blocking custom domains from being added to a Space
Fixed issue where horizon line in 3D preview would display below canvas objects
Fixed issue where URL would not reset after an 'Animate to' action was used. This would block the initial action trigger from being used more than once.
In our last release for 2023 we've got some exciting new features to announce, a few small updates we've snuck in and as always, improvements to performance and platform stability.
At the core of our v15 release are our new Social Media Integrations, we've added detailed guides to the Knowledgebase but to give you a brief summary of how you can create a single social hub for all of your content, we've added support for the following platforms and post types:
Platform | Supported Content Types | Setup Guide |
---|---|---|
Posts, Videos, Pages | ||
Timelines, Tweets | ||
Channels, Videos, Clips, Livestreams, Playlists | ||
Creator Profiles, Videos | ||
Videos, Lenses, Stories | ||
Channels, VODs, Clips, Livestreams | ||
Showcases, Clickthroughs |
Once you have connected your content, use the updated Link Action for Social Content to connect your posts, tweets, videos and more to objects on the canvas and display it on-click in an Overlay.
Our overlays have been updated for Social Content and now offer custom styling and perfectly fit the content being displayed.
Allow your audience to view all of your content in a single Sphere hub and drive them to sign up, follow or like the content directly on your platforms.
Instagram will be joining the list soon, but the scope of what you can do with Instagram is even more powerful so stay tuned for updates.
You will find the setup for Social Media in Settings / Social Media Integrations

It's been a great year at Cozmos and we can't wait to show you what we have planned for 2024.
Thanks for all of your support this year, we hope you all have a fantastic festive break.
Our latest release of the Cozmos platform brings some great new features to help speed up your build process and adds a range of improvements and updates to existing functionalities.
These release notes give a brief overview of new features, keep an eye on Discord and our social channels for detailed guides coming soon on how to best make use of these latest updates.
You can now copy an existing Sphere to either overwrite another sphere or create an entirely new Sphere group. This is another step towards our goal of introducing templates to Cozmos. Allowing you to design once and reuse an existing layout across multiple spheres in your Space.
You will find a new option (Copy Sphere) on the Sphere detail page. You can copy a Draft (WIP), Generated or Published Sphere.
When you select to copy a sphere you can decide to either create a New Group or Ovewrite.
We've added two new areas to Space Assets. Video Content and Overlay Content
Upload videos directly to your space and use them either within an iFrame overlay or directly on the sphere canvas using the video object.
This feature removes the need to externally host your video content. You'll find the Video upload area in Assets / Video Content
Uploaded videos will be available to add as a source when placing a Video objects in Curator, or from your uploaded files in the Assets area, you can copy the direct link to display your video content in an iFrame overlay Action by pasting the video link in the iFrame Action url input.
Another new area within your Space Assets content area. Overlay Content allows you to upload a variety of content types which can be applied to to your Curator designs via the Actions mode, enabling your audience to view this content in an overlay.
We've added support for; SVG, PDF, PNG, JPG, GIF, HTML and JS files.
PDF files will open in a reader format
HTML must make use of absolute links in order to correctly render CSS and JS properties.
JS and HTML files should be tested on a Generated sphere as we do not validate your code on upload.
You can now re-sync data from your existing connected Shopify store. This feature has been introduced to help when you have issues with content in your Shopify store or have made updates to non-product related data which you would now like to be present in your Ecommerce enabled Cozmos Space
Re-sync supports:
Products
Languages
Translations
Currencies
It's important to note that during the re-sync process, any sphere's in Curator which have Shopify products on them will be blocked from editing until the re-sync has been completed.
We've changed the Sphere loader to be a more neutral design and to help improve Sphere load times. This light-weight improvement gives instant feedback to your audience that the sphere experience is loading and removes a momentary black screen which some customers have reported experiencing.
To support more currencies we've updated how our currency selector UI works on published ecommerce spheres.
Mailto links are now supported in the External Link Action. You can use either of the following formats:
mailto:test@example.com?subject=Testing out mailto!
mailto:test@example.com?subject=Testing out mailto!&body=This is only a test!
SEO updates for iFrame Action
Ecommerce UI configuration:
You can now toggle the visibility for the Account Sign in, Shopping Cart, Buy Now and Checkout UI elements. This could allow you to use Shopify as a content Database without the need to allow visitors to purchase or turn off certain functions you don't need.
You can now set the product description to be expanded by default, rather than collapsed.
iFrame overlay close button styling. To allow for better visibility of the close function UI you can edit the default white icon currently used. This can be updated via:
Settings / Overlays (to set style for all spheres in a Space)
Sphere / Settings / Overlays (to set specific styles for individual spheres)
Support for Currency URL parameter. If you would like your visitors to see a specific currency by default you can add the currency code in the url you share, please ensure the currency code is used in uppercase:
Example: https://mysphere.com/en/demosphere?currency=AUD
Added Discord URL to left hand menu in Cozmos Space UI
This is a new section we will be adding to our Release Notes (hopefully not too often) but if there is ever an issue we are actively working on but did not make the release, you will see it here. Wherever possible we will hot fix these
If you have any questions on anything we've shared in these release notes, please feel free to reach out to our Customer Support Team.
Version 13 of Curator and Cozmos brings a host of quality of life, performance, design and analytics capabilities to the platform. We've also been busy over the last few weeks bringing a few new channels to life.
Our new Cozmos sphere showcases some of our favourite client and concept spheres, details what our platform offers and where we're going. Please feel free to take a look at Cozmos and let us know what you think. If you would like your sphere showcased then feel free to reach out.
Our Discord Community Channel is getting more content and live chat office hours are officially open so please drop in, say hi and get in touch if you'd like to chat.
We will soon be posting content across Twitter (or X, who knows what it will be in a few weeks) and Linkedin, so if you are active in those communities, follow us for updates.
Now, on to the real updates!
We've added more zoom levels so you can now fully replicate what your audience will be able to do on your published spheres. Please note, only a generated or published sphere will display the full resolution. The Curator canvas is still a preview area.
For finer controls on text size and line height we've added decimal space support.
When you remove objects from a Cluster they will now be placed above the Cluster in the layer panel object order.
You can now select multiple layers within the layers panel to re-order them
We've also made two substantial changes to Curator in this release. Backgrounds and 3D preview have two great new features:
You can now select a solid colour to be used as your background within Curator.
This removes the need to upload a file if your aim is just to composite your design elements, assets and objects within a simple design space
Using the solid colour as a base has a performance boost too as our system does not need to generate a large background image
By default all sphere's have a base white background, so you can drop in assets and generate straight away, no more waiting to create and upload a background to our platform
Backgrounds are an area of the platform we are constantly look at ways to improve, so please feel free to share your ideas on our Feature Request channel in Discord. We have an exciting roadmap already in place but ideas are always welcome.
Another great addition in this release. You can now adjust and preview the curve shape of your sphere within 3D preview.
You'll notice a new icon on the right hand side of the preview screen, select the icon to open a vertical slider which gives you real-time feedback of how the horizon line's position affects the curve of your sphere.
Simply exit 3D preview or close the line preview and your adjustment is saved.
We've added a status indicator so you can track disconnect progress. Depending on how many products you have connected, this could take a while to complete, the new status indicator will allow you to see when the process is complete and reassure you that it is running.
We've added support for seven languages within sphere: English, German, Polish, French, Spanish, Portuguese and Italian.
What you will see now when looking at your list of spheres is a sphere group, expand the list to see the various languages.
Each sphere is unique but connected, so if you create an English, Italian and German version of your sphere, then publish all three versions, visitors to your sphere will see a language selector in the top left of their screen, allowing them to switch between the versions.
If you only publish a single language, no selector will be visible.
We've made changes to allow you to configure the sphere's cookie acceptance function to work with any cookies placed via GTM.
For a full overview, please read our detailed guide on GTM Cookie Consent.
You can now configure and track custom sphere events via GTM. This will allow you to get more detailed data from your spheres when you have GTM active.
For a full overview, please read our detailed guide on Tracking custom sphere events with GTM.
While Cozmos still supports .ttf and .otf font formats, we have now added support for the .woff format.
We would strongly advise anyone who is able to start using this format. These files are much smaller in size and can help improve sphere load times.
A detailed guide on how to convert your fonts to the .woff format will be published soon, keep an eye on the Discord channel for this.
Cozmos remains free for personal use while we continue to develop features but if you would like to see what we currently offer across our plan tiers, you can find the information in Setting / Plans and Billing.
If you have any questions on billing or anything else we've shared in these release notes, please feel free to reach out to our Customer Support Team.
Version 12 of Curator and the Cozmos platform has been focused on improving quality, loads speeds, adding more space to store assets, improving ease of use in Curator through a small but handy update and introduces our new and improved Knowledgebase
As I'm sure you can see we have reformatted our knowledgebase and improved the quality of content and guidance.
We've added an FAQ area for questions we get asked often when speaking to new users to the platform.
Have built guides around the core topics we feel need more detail
Each section of the Knowledgebase has been reworked so please do take a look around and if you like, you can rate the content at the bottom of each page. This will help us to learn what is working and what needs work. Thanks ๐
If there's a topic you would like covered which currently is not, then please reach out to our Product Support Team and we'd be happy to help.
We've updated certain limits within the platform. These changes are:
Background images now support a minimum dimension of 32000x8000. We found this to be the limit of using Generative AI imagery. You can read more about this in our AI overview and Midjourney Guide.
Limits have been increased for Logos and Favicons from 20 to 100
You can now upload 100 image assets at a time
You can now add 200 products to a category
We have increased the compression quality with relation to background generation. Adjusted Webp compression from 90 to 95.
Swap an image asset for a different image while maintaining position and scale on the canvas
Swap a product for a different product while maintaining position and scale on the canvas
You can also swap images for products and vice versa
Any action applied will remain intact
This feature does not work for multi-selections
You will notice a new area within Settings which is Plans & Billings. Please note, this does not change anything within your current Cozmos Space.
Cozmos will remain free for personal use while we continue to develop features. We will be introducing paid plans in the future but each of these will still have a free trial period.
If you have any questions about this, please contact our Product Support Team.
Version 11 of Curator introduces the first steps in our new brand evolution. As you will have noticed straight away, we've changed our name. Cozmos is a name we feel captures the scale of possibilities and the concept of connected exploration and discovery.
Sphere still exists within our brand, but is now the format you create in. Using the Cozmos platform and Curator to build your spheres.
The full rollout will happen over the coming months as we launch our new marketing materials and we look forward to sharing more with you as it goes live, but for now... Welcome to Cozmos.
We haven't only added a shiny coat of paint and the ability to switch between light and dark mode to the UI in this release. We've also shipped a major feature for custom domains which we hope will allow you to more easily create and manage branded experiences.
Previously, when you would want a custom domain linked to your sphere it would be a manual process involving our development team.
Version 11 of Curator has removed the need for this and you can now self-manage your sphere domains, adding as many as you like to your Cozmos Space.
Then, when creating a new sphere you can choose to assign it to all or just one of the custom domains you've added.
It's important to remember that all sphere's will still have an internal domain, this means you will always have a version published to https://[space_name].cozmos.com/[lng]/[sphere_name]
To find the Domain Management screen, go to the Settings menu, select Domain Management and follow the guided steps to connect your custom domain.
Please be aware, you will need access to your DNS to do this, as you will need to update records which we provide.
DNS providers do vary in their approach, so if you encounter any issues when connecting your domain, please reach out to support.
To assist with previous issues of Space name restrictions due to duplication, you will now see that a randomly generated series of letters and numbers is assigned to the end of your space name within your published url.
You can remove these random characters by either adding a custom domain and publishing your sphere's there, or by contacting our support team to discuss how you might reserve a custom Cozmos domain.
A short and sweet festive update. As always we have spent the last month focusing on stability, performance and fine tuning our user experience within Curator.
We have however managed to implement two small but powerful updates:
You can now add your GTM ID to your Sphere space, bringing the power of your existing measurement tags to the Sphere experience. To do this, in Pubtools go to Settings / Analytics and select Google Tag Manager.
Add your GTM ID and connect your account to Sphere
When creating a new Sphere space you can setup your profile using Google social sign-in, removing the need to set and remember login credentials specifically for Sphere.
Copy/Paste
The day is finally here. CTRL/CMD C and V to your hearts content. We have one limit on this at the moment, copy/paste does not work for Cluster's yet. We aim to update this in our next release.
Image handling
I almost wanted to send an email just about this. We've made some major improvements to our LOD system this release and one of those is how we handle and present image resolutions
You will no longer experience a blurry result when using any resolution of image on your Sphere. Quality will degrade as you zoom in to an image without enough resolution to support the zoom level but in general any image will now be sharp when used and viewed at or near its original scale.
I urge you to experiment with any image you have at hand, the results will hopefully surprise you.
Object opacity
Now you see it, now you don't. In the transform panel, with a supported object type selected you will now see a slider to control object opacity.
Overset text indicator
When using the text object, if your text is greater than the area a red indicator will appear on the object container.
Removal of letter spacing
While we work to improve the library support for WebGL text, we have temporarily removed the ability to edit letter spacing.
Self-serve Space creation
Help yourself ๐. A major addition in this release is the ability for anyone to create their own Sphere Space and get started. You no longer need to wait for us to set you up. Follow the 'Create Profile' path from the login screen.
Spaces and Profiles
We're updating how we speak about our platform, so you may notice some changes in naming. Space has replaced Client and Profle has replaced account. As we continue to develop our brand you will notice more subtle changes like this.
Knowledgebase and Support links
We've added more ways to help you and for you to help yourselves. Throughout the Pubtools UI you will see various link to contact us or browse knowledgebase articles.
Major Improvements to tile loading. Direct translation, we've reworked how the sytem prepares zoom levels which means a much more efficient and smoother experience for your viewers.
Our latest release sees a host of ease-of-use improvements to Curator and our first implementation of a feature we call Packing. Packing allows you to quickly layout image and product data within a Cluster in a flexible grid system with just one click.
You will also notice the Control Bar (Top menu) has changed slightly, you can now add new clusters directly from here to help speed up your layout flow. Clicking โGenerateโ will no longer kick you back to Pubtools but keeps you focused in Curator and allows you to continue working as soon as generation is complete.
There's an additional function in the Control Bar called Strings but this has not yet been activated. More news on this feature will follow in our next release.
Text has had a major overhaul and now includes responsive text wrapping and direct on canvas input, no more typing into a small box on the sidebar, hurray!
Keyboard shortcut support has now been added, this one has been requested by many and we are happy to announce it is finally here. You can access a full list of supported shortcuts by using the keyboard icon in the lower right side of the Curator UI. Additional shortcuts will be getting added over time, so if there is anything missing which you might be expecting, don't worry, it's coming soon.
Grids, guides and alignment! You will notice now when moving objects around the canvas that we display a line indicator when objects are perfectly aligned, to be even more precise you can use the new alignment controls found in the sidebar under โtransformโ.
If you open the layers panel we have a new toggle switch which will display a grid overlay and show you the areas of the canvas which will not be rendered when you generate.
There have been many more slight adjustments and improvements throughout Curator and Pubtools, we hope you enjoy discovering and utilizing all of these improvements.
